Pei-Lan Ku made multiple requests for help, but she often received dismissive letters from Li, Hong Ji (李鴻基）that everything was ok with her father.
I hired more lawyers to help Pei-Lan to file a detailed complaint to the department, and they also copied a Taipei City Councilman. The expectation was that Li, Hong Ji (李鴻基) would do his job correctly. WRONG!
It wasn't until Councilman Wang, Min-Sheng (王閔生) personally held a meeting with Pei-Lan, our lawyers, and the Li, Hong Ji (李鴻基) that the truth was forced to be documented.
The Taipei Department of Social Welfare finally came back with a semi-accurate report of the negligent and abusive care Professor Ku suffers at Aiai Nursing Home. Getting this report didn't come easily, and there is plenty of suspicious behavior happening at the Department of Social Welfare. The effort it took to get this report is explained on this page.
Some of the key details in the official document below are:
This is the original response Pei-Lan and Councilman Wang received from Li, Hong Ji (李鴻基) . Do you notice it has the same date as the honest document shown above--August 30, 2022.
Here is what the un-wise Li wrote:
Subject: Regarding your request to review Aiai Nursing Home Taipei’s care for your father, please review the update provided below.
One. This matter was processed based on a complaint filed by Washington Group & Associates on August 19, ROC Year 111.
Two. The department conducted a visit without notice in the morning of August 25, ROC Year 111. The department examined the care provided to the elder under care based on the elder’s physical health conditions and the signatory. The department finds the care provided to be appropriate, and that the nursing home is in active communication with the signatory as well as the signatory’s family members. Should you have any further questions or suggestions about the care for the elder, please discussion and communicate with both he signatory and the nursing home, in order to reach an agreement on the care given.

After the meeting with Councilman Wang on September 16, 2022, my lawyer sent us an email (seen here) on September 19th that the Social Welfare Department conducted an inspection, and requirements for improvement were demanded. Interesting how this comes up after the meeting, but the letter up above with the more honest details is dated August 30th...the same date as the letter Pei-Lan received that everything is ok. 🤨
I didn't get the final report shown above until October 3, 2022. I find it very suspicious considering the above timeline that we received a report from the Department of Social Welfare with the date of August 30, 2022. Li's previous behavior to cover-up Aiai's incompetence and outright abuse could not be hidden now, and now I see that he is rather unintelligent when it comes to covering-up his own bad acts with this poor attempt at backdating reports.
At this stage I'm not surprised about the incompetence and corruption I'm witnessing in Taiwan. I'm thankful for the help we've received from Councilman Wang's office.
The truth about Aiai Nursing Home and Wang Fei Fei, the abuser who is a direct descendant of the Taiwan White Terror corrupt official (Wang Ruisong), will be told.
